Let God drive the boat

On Tuesday night I had the following quote brought to my attention, by someone I just met.

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance — that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”

Herbert Spencer

I would suggest you read that again, and then one more time.

Lunch on Tuesday with a long time family in law friend.   He had a great line, “I pay, you pray”.   Well done.   Then he says come waterskiing at 6 am.  To be honest, my first mind reaction was, I don’t have time for that I need to find a job.   But I paused.   Read the above again one more time…  “Contempt prior to investigation”.   Slalom water skiing is my favorite thing, why would I not say yes?

Bottom line, wow, what a slalom ski on Wednesday August 11, 2010…   and you will never, ever, ever guess what the ski I got to borrow was called.    A First in Two Boots for me the ski is by HO  “Vengeance“…    What a name of a ski to put on and if you have read any of my dragon boat posts, you need to “leave it all on the lake”.

Vengence defined:  Infliction of punishment in return for a wrong committed; retribution.    What a name for a slalom ski !!!!!!

I’m going to end this post.   There is so much more to blog on my first slalom ski on Okanagan Lake in many years, but just to say thanks to all who made this possible.   And new small tips like straight arms, watch the rope post in the boat as I cross the wake, and turn on the edge of the Whitewater Wave.

And then best of all, “Let God drive the boat”.
