Run 1 minute, walk 5 minutes

If one is going to do a sprint triathlon, one needs to run.

So today I did, following the bit of knowledge I was given on how to start running, “run 1 minute, walk 5 minutes”.

The sun was shining, it was fun.    Amazing though, spent most of the time looking at my watch !!!!

I can do anything, a little bit at a time.

Also need to swim.

I did this again, January 29, 2010, the treadmill calls them “intervals”  I think they were 2 minutes each.   Got my heart rate up to 170 beats per minute while running 6 mph.   The walk was good to slow the Heart !!!!   Our bodies are complex machines that run on Oxygen and energy.   I did have a Tim Hortons before hand, a good use of the compelling nature of the effect of caffeine.  Short lived though, caffeine will not get us up Mount Everest.

  1. If you want to swim, consider the Masters Swim Club. They have great coaches. You can either sign up as a member or drop in. There are lots of choice for times and you can mix it up so you don’t have to come on the same day each week.

Star Date Dec 29th, 2009. iQuest 6:05 am spin class was not on, so I got on the elliptical machine for 10 minutes. Also sounds like the tread mill at iQuest is in miles.
